Madina Harme – Board Member
Madina is a teacher by profession, she has a Bachelor of Education and Counselling from Kenya Methodist University. Currently she is working in Dakabaricha Secondary School.Madina is the head of department of guidance and counselling in the same school.
She is multi-talented teacher, and was able to uplift the name of her school both locally and nationally in Kenya. Despite the religious and cultural barrier Madina is championing for the girls’ rights to take part in games such as football and hockey.
Madina’s passion to motivate students and give them career guidance gave her the opportunity to be the Head of Department in guidance and counselling in her school. In collaboration with other local schools,Madina often organizes for friendly games and also talent show like drama, music and cultural festivals.
She believes that education is the only weapon that can be used against poverty. Her teaching career was motivated by her passion of helping the nomadic communities through education. Madina is also the menstrual hygiene champion in her school, she teaches the female students on menstrual hygiene managements and sexual reproductive health and rights.
